Serendipity! I had the page folded over and didn’t realize the image i printed today was mirrored by the original right page!
Manuscript hand—an unintentional pun.
Below, a bit autobiographical about my neighbourhood and trying to figure out feelings about recent developments:
Above, printed a month ago (?)by soaking up excess dye from “All Flesh is Grass” (still being stewed over…..)–hadn’t realized Boney had already made an appearance in the bottom right. And below, different concentrations of paint and water on the same fabric:
This was the first page i did with the bee after making the stamp:
The reason i’m showing it last though is because the photo below is of fabric i have prepped for printing and replicating the right side page:
Originally coffee dyed (the interesting bloobie in the middle), and from the same piece of fabric that “Instinct” was made from, i plan on adding stitch, print and possibly some beading. This is a small piece, only 8+1/2 x 11+1/2, and i can’t wait to start the needle as soon as it is printed with the bee! (Might leave off the heart, but not sure yet)
EDIT: HA! Too funny–a contest with bees as the theme—i’m in

Very, very interesting. I love that image of the bee. Did I miss something? Did you carve that one yourself? So, are you rebinding or how did you decide to attach the pages. The paper is so thin in that moleskin. I know, too many questions.

Yes, it’s mine, made today from funfoam. I’m completely rebinding–creating signatures/folios first. And i glued or stitched pages back to back or made new ones from heavier substrates.
never too many questions

Very unique bee stamp. Made my mind go creative on me. I’m starting to work on small art quilts now instead of larger ones and find it very soul satisfying!

Love it. Thanks for the Hive link Arlee, might have a go myself, I’ve always had a thing about bees.
