I had my week of play and dyeing/ecoprinting, and now it’s time to get back to work!
I figure it will take a few minutes (!) to baste this one to some of my favoured flannelette backing. I’m itching to start working on this 48×72″ monster.
I’m also working on something you won’t see until it’s done 
Some “travel” news: the Waterworks show by FAN members will be travelling later to the Faculty of Extension Gallery in downtown Edmonton for Feb, 2013. It may also be going west at a later date. (I have Sea Change in this one) and as far as i know, the show “From Away”, last seen at the CQA 2012 National show in Halifax, with my Winter Prairie, is going to be available for viewing at the Edmonton Creative Stitches extravaganza, and possibly the Calgary one as well.
The Contextural residency show will be opening soon. “Not the Hive Mind” will be in this one.
I’m also pleased to say that as an Alberta SDA “Ambassador” i will be blogging notes of interest on the SDA (Alberta) blog. As they had been before by the very capable Karin Millson, local, provincial, national and international news and events will be covered, calls for entry, local fibre/textile shows, workshops etc–you don’t have to be an SDA member to read it or benefit from it, and events are not all just for or by SDA members. Keeping out of trouble, eh?
I’ll be up in Edmonton for Creative Stitches (Have a piece in the Focus on Fibre Arts exhibit there), so will look for “From Away”, to be sure! And will try to get to Edmonton for the FAN show — but February! The roads may be iffy! Bookmarked the SDA page…maybe the SDA (Alberta) and SAQA (Western Canada) blogs should have links to each other? As for the “Monster”….! Wow!
