Well, bloody hell, what a great way to start the week. I was hacked here, and now after getting a call from the (now ex-)manager at the flower mines and hearing how they just treated her, i’ll be looking for a new “day” job as well……
I am really shocked at the mind set of a shop owner led by the nose by someone who hasn’t any concept of fairness or respect for employees, or legal OBLIGATIONS to the employees, but i will be able to find another job at the snap of a hoofies. It’s too bad too because the manager and i made a great team, both with many years of experience and professionalism. Unfortunately when blind bean counters rule, their rules never make sense, so fighting it in this case means leaving–i refuse to be treated like some dumb 16 year old twat. The blind bean counter lied about my wage to the manager, the days that were agreed upon for me and the number of hours. What they have done to her i won’t go into, but suffice it to say that it was horracious treatment of a long time highly skilled employee. At least the Labour Board is involved now and i hope they get what they royally deserve. I know if i stay i will receive even worse treatment as a part time position, and i’m too old and too smart for that.
Ah well, not going in on Wed means another day of stitching 🙂 (Aside from pounding the pavement again that is….) I am “manless” again this week, Greyman off to the far flung wilds of Northern Alberta, so the hairy kids of various species, the stoodio and i shall just have to make the best of it.
EDIT: OOO i just remembered–i’m going to the Creative Stitches “festival” on Friday here in Calgary so can have *some* fun after all 🙂

Your week can’t help but get better after all this angst….I hope!! At least, on the bright side, you can get some extra stitching time and extra cuddles with the four-legged loves.

Bad karma on them. I wonder how such people get the jobs they have and how they keep them. Good karma on you and the Four-Legs. Enjoy your freedom while you have it.
